Maria is a vibrant, conceptual thinker with a passion for technical apparel that is not only beautiful, but functional and performance oriented.
Spending much of her childhood enjoying drawing, designing and sewing, Maria went on to graduate from Blanche Macdonald Centre in Vancouver for Fashion Design. In design school, she gained a strong proficiency in pattern drafting, garment construction and hand drawn fashion illustration.
With 10 years of experience in customer-centric luxury retail environments and 5 years of industry experience working at leading athletic apparel brand Lululemon HQ in both Women’s Run/Train/Yoga technical product design and Raw Material Fabric Development, she developed an intuitive ability to collaborate with various cross-functional partners in bringing thoughtful and innovative product from concept to market.
Maria seeks to create cohesive collections with relatable stories and an effortless aesthetic, applying a deep knowledge of research and development in technical performance product, garment construction, fit, illustration, technical drawings, colour, concept, trim, and fabric selection.
Skilled in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign and 3D Garment Design, she builds compelling presentations that capture the essence and aesthetic of various projects.
She possesses an entrepreneurial spirit that sparks both creativity and resourcefulness, building rapport through collaborative engagement and attitude, while maintaining the highest level of professionalism.
She is an avid yoga practitioner and athletic opportunist who loves spending time in nature, hiking, cooking, reading, drawing and traveling.
